The photography creation it has to do with the search for a way to reproduce reality without having to draw it through the camera obscura. That's what the parents of photography were looking for: Nicéphore Niépce (1765-133), Louis-Jaques-Mandé Daguerre (1787-1851) and Fox Talbot (1800-1877).

Photography was born at the time of greatest production of encyclopedic works and memory preservation. The search for knowledge with the development of science and industry seemed to have no limit and the objective was to collect all the visual information, study it and organize it scientifically, and photography was the best means to carry out this work quickly.

Monuments and buildings were the main object that was portrayed during the beginnings of photography. The exhibition aims to highlight the link between photography and architecture, paying special attention to our country, all carried out through the funds of the National Library of Spain.

The exhibition is open to the public from July 3 until October 4 this year, in the Recoletos Room of the National Library of Spain.
